The Tigers won in a blow out 68 to 40 but the Lady Tigers lost a squeaker 42 to 41 to Warren County Tuesday night in Smithville.
In the first game, the two teams played to a 13 all tie by the end of the first quarter. Warren County edged DC 10 to 8 in the second quarter to take a 23 to 21 lead at halftime. The Lady Tigers had a good showing in the third quarter, outscoring Warren County 15 to 7 to take the lead 36 to 30 going into the fourth period. But in the final stanza, Warren County outscored DC 12 to 5 and won 42 to 41.
Alex Meadows and Abbey Caldwell each scored 10 points for the Lady Tigers. Chelsea Lewis had 8. Loren Cripps 7 and Ashley Barnes and Raye Baker each scored 3.
In the nightcap, Warren County led 14 to 12 after the first period but the game was tied at 24 all by halftime, as the Tigers outscored the Pioneers 12 to 10 in the second quarter. DC owned the third period, out gunning the Pioneers 24 to 2 to take a 48 to 26 lead after the third period. The Tigers went on to win 68 to 40, outscoring Warren County 20 to 14 in the fourth period.
Stephen Howell led the Tigers in scoring with 19 points. Sonni Young had 15. Braxton Atnip and Ethan Roller each scored 9. Zach Vincent had 5. Eli Lomas and Lucas Phillips each scored 4 and Will Molander had 3
