The DeKalb County Tigers got their first victory of the 2010 high school football season Friday night at Oneida 25 to 13.
Zach Taylor put the first Tiger points on the board on the first play of the second period on a 39 yard field goal. DeKalb County led 3-0 with 11:53 left in the second quarter.

After getting a turnover, the Tigers drove thirteen yards for their first touchdown of the night late in the second quarter on a three yard touchdown run by Kevin Kijanski. Zach Taylor converted on the PAT and the Tigers led 10-0 with 1:28 left in the second period.
Oneida got it's first touchdown of the night with 8:26 left in the third period as quarterback Houston West scored on a 67 yard touchdown run. The PAT attempt by Jarret Lay was no good but Oneida had cut the Tiger lead to 10-6.
Later in the period Oneida got a turnover and drove for a go-ahead score. Sam Woodard got the touchdown on a three yard run and with Lay's PAT, Oneida took a 13-10 lead with 3:52 in the third period.
A big play by the Tigers with 2:45 to go in the third put DeKalb County back on top to stay as quarterback Shane Salley found Sonni Young on a pass play that covered 65 yards for a touchdown. Taylor's PAT try was no good but DeKalb County led 16 to 13.
With 4:28 left in the fourth quarter, Oneida's Cole West fell in the endzone for a safety, giving DeKalb County an 18-13 lead.
DeKalb County then put the game away with 3:17 left as quarterback Shane Salley scored on a touchdown run. Taylor's PAT attempt was good and the Tigers won 25-13.
Next week, the Tigers will travel to Woodbury for a date with the Cannon County Lions. Kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 3rd. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
