Tigers Tame Lions, Lady Tigers Suffer Fourth District Loss

The DeKalb County Tigers got by the Cannon County Lions 52 to 50 Tuesday night in Smithville but the Lady Tigers lost their fourth straight district game, dropping a 70 to 38 decision to the Lionettes.

The Tigers trailed Cannon County 19 to 14 after the first period, but grabbed a 33 to 31 lead by halftime. DC led 43 to 40 after the third quarter and went on to win 52 to 50.

Sonni Fullilove led the team in scoring with 16 points. Ethan Roller 15. Braxton Atnip 7. Will Molander 5. Eli Lomas 3 and Lucas Phillips, Aaron Patterson, and Justin Bones each with 2 points.

The Lady Tigers trailed 19 to 5 after the first period of their game. The Lionettes led 40 to 19 by halftime and 52 to 33 after the third period before going on to win 70 to 38.

Abbey Caldwell scored 12 points. Loren Cripps 9, Chelsea Lewis 8, Paige Winningham 6, Lydia Foutch 2 and Ashley Barnes with 1 point.

DeKalb County will travel to Smyrna Thursday night to take on Lancaster Christian. The girls game tips off at 6:00 p.m.
