The DeKalb County Tigers got back to their winning ways Friday night on Homecoming with a 39-0 win over the Cannon County Lions, their border rival.
Luke Boss put the Tigers on the board with 3:52 left in the first period on a two yard touchdown run. Matthew Poss converted the extra point and DeKalb County led 7-0.
Quarterback Steven Jennings tossed a four yard touchdown pass to Lane Ball with 10:36 left in the second period The P.A.T. attempt was no good and the Tigers led 13-0.
Cannon County's kicker attempted a 40 yard field goal with ten seconds before half time but it came up short.
With 7:45 left in the third period, Devonta Milan rambled 44 yards for a touchdown. The P.A.T. try was no good and the Tigers owned a 19-0 advantage.
A.J. Mooneyham scored from four yards with 4:09 to go in the third period. Matthew Poss converted on the extra point and DeKalb County led 26-0.
Aaron Patterson caught a 23 yard touchdown pass from Quarterback Steven Jennings with 1:32 left in the third period. The P.A.T. attempt failed but the Tigers had pushed their lead to 32-0.
Devonta Milan put the exclamation point on the win with 8:44 left in the fourth period on a ten yard run for a touchdown. Matthew Poss converted on the P.A.T. and the Tigers celebrated a 39-0 homecoming win.
DeKalb County, now 4-1 will have a bye week next Friday.
