Tigers Overrun By Warriors

The DeKalb County Tigers suffered their first loss of the season Friday night falling to the White County Warriors 46 to 21 in Smithville.

The Warriors rushed for more than 400 yards as a team led by the 194 yards of senior running back, Blake Lynn. The WCHS defense forced six turnovers, five in the first half.

White County drove 66 yards in their first possession and scored on a five yard run by River Boruff. The P.A.T. by Luke Cantrell was good and the Warriors led 7-0 with 5:41 to go in the first period.

After a Tiger fumble, the Warriors took over. Perry Clayton then scored on a 47 yard touchdown run with 4:30 left in the period. The P.A.T. by Luke Cantrell was good and White County led 14-0.

DeKalb County's first touchdown of the night came on a 69 yard pass play from Quarterback Steven Jennings to Dustin Warner with 4:11 left in the first period. The P.A.T. by Matthew Poss was good and the Tigers trailed 14-7.

With 2:55 to go in the first period, White County's Blake Lynn scored on a 26 yard touchdown run. The P.A.T. was good and White County led 21-7.

The Warriors added to their lead with 9:48 left in the second period as River Boruff , on a 4th and 1 play, rambled 32 yards for a score. The P.A.T. attempt was no good but White County led 27-7.

The Tigers turned the ball over again with 9:29 left in the half as White County's Hunter Cantrell stripped Quarterback Steven Jennings and returned it 25 yards for a score. The P.A.T. attempt was no good but the Warriors led 33-7.

The Tigers scored on their first possession of the second half. Quarterback Steven Jennings capped a 67 yard drive on a two yard keeper with 7:20 left in the third period. The P.A.T. by Matthew Poss was good and DeKalb County trailed 33-14.

White County's Blake Lynn later scored on a 71 yard touchdown run. The P.A.T. was good and the Warriors led 39-14

The Tiger's last touchdown came in the fourth period on a five yard run by Divonta Milan. The P.A.T. by Matthew Poss was good and DeKalb County trailed 39-21.

White County's Josh Rowan broke free on a 45 yard touchdown run with twelve seconds left in the game. The P.A.T. was good and the Warriors won 46-21.

DeKalb County will host Cannon County next Friday night for homecoming starting at 7:00 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
