Tigers Hopes for State Title Dashed,Season Ends at 28-4

The Tigers hopes for a state title were dashed Wednesday as they lost to Lexington 5 to 2 and to Christ Academy of Knoxville 3 to 1 in the Blue Cross Spring Fling State Tournament in Murfreesboro

After falling to Lexington earlier in the day, the Tigers dropped into the elimination bracket for a must win game against Christ Academy of Knoxville Wednesday night. They lost 3 to 1.

CAK scored three runs on four hits and made no errors. DeKalb County scored one run on four hits and made one error.

Destry Wiggins, the losing pitcher, went seven innings and gave up three runs on four hits. He struck out five, walked three, and hit a batter.

The Tigers end their season with an overall record of 28-4, a regular season district championship, a district and region tournament championship, a sub-state win, and with one victory in the state tournament in Class-AA.
