Tigers Fall at Whitehouse 36 -14

The DeKalb County Tigers fell to the White County Blue Devils Friday night on the road 36 to 14.

Whitehouse wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, going up 7-0 with 9:23 left in the first quarter on a 52 yard touchdown run by Demarques Payne and the extra point by kicker Zach Trobaugh.

The Blue Devils put another score on the board with 5:11 left in the first quarter on a 10 yard touchdown run by Bryan Dixon. Payne's 2 point conversion run was good to give Whitehouse a 15-0 lead.

Cody Allen got a touchdown on a 5 yard run for the Blue Devils with 10:26 to go in the second quarter. Quarterback Aussie Light then found Kirk Fulghum on a 2 point conversion pass play and Whitehouse owned a 23-0 lead.

Dixon scored his second touchdown of the night on a 45 yard run with 5:18 to go in the second period and the extra point by Trobaugh put Whitehouse up 30 to 0. That was the half time score.

The Blue Devils added to their big lead with a 22 yard field goal by Trobaugh with 3:38 left in the third period. The score was 33-0.

DeKalb County got on the scoreboard with 2:04 to go in the third period on a 12 yard touchdown pass play from Quarterback Hunter Poteete to J.J. Herriott. Kicker Juan Ruiz converted on the extra point attempt and the Tigers cut the Whitehouse lead to 33 to 7.

The Tigers drew closer with 9:28 to go in the fourth period on a 10 yard touchdown run by Brent Collier. Ruiz's extra point kick was good and DeKalb County trailed 33 to 14.

Whitehouse added a 40 yard field goal by Trobaugh with 3:38 left in the game and went on to win 36-14.

DeKalb County falls to 1-7 on the season and will host Sycamore Friday night in Smithville. Kick off is set for 7:30 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage and LIVE streaming at www.wjle.com.
