The DeKalb County Tigers will advance to the semi-finals of the Region 4AA basketball tournament Tuesday night after defeating Bledsoe County 82 to 39 Saturday night in Smithville.
The Tigers will meet Sequatchie County Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m. at the White County High School in Sparta.
In the game Saturday night, DC led 24 to 9 after the first period and 38 to 23 at halftime as each team scored 14 points in the second quarter. DC outscored Bledsoe County 24 to 9 in the third quarter to take a 62 to 32 lead into the fourth period. From there, the Tigers outscored Bledsoe County 20 to 7 and won 82 to 39.
Sonni Young led the Tigers in scoring with 23 points. Stephen Howell had 18. Braxton Atnip 13. Zach Vincent 12. Ethan Roller 10. Lucas Phillips 4 and Eli Lomas with 2.
