Tigers drop from Top Ten

September 23, 2008

After losing their first game of the season, last Friday night, the DeKalb County High School Tiger football team has dropped out of the Associated Press Top Ten, this week. The Tigers, who were ranked #6 in last week's Class AAA poll, dropped to #11, this week, after losing to Station Camp, 51-27, in last week's Homecoming game.

The top four teams in the poll remained intact, with David Lipscomb, Knoxville Catholic, McMinn Central and Giles County holding those spots. Anderson County dropped from #5 to #7, despite winning their game last week. Marshall County jumped from #7 to #5, with Polk County taking over the #6 spot. White House, Howard and Jackson Southside round out the top ten.

The Tigers (3-1) will visit Cannon County, Friday night, at 7:00 p.m.
