The DeKalb County Tigers defeated the York Institute Dragons 37-10 in Jamestown Friday night
Zach Taylor kicked a 47 yard field goal with 6:57 left in the first period to give DC a 3-0 lead
The Dragons tried to answer with 3:31 left in the first period on a 32 yard field goal attempt by Cullen Roysden, but the kick sailed wide right.
York Institute tied the game at 3-3 with 6:27 left in the second period on a Cullen Roysden 25 yard field goal.
DC scored its first touchdown of the game on a 14 yard run by Chris Chapman with 20 seconds left in the second period. The P.A.T. by Zach Taylor was good and the Tigers ended the half leading 10-3.
The Tigers extended their lead with 8:55 left in the third period on a one yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Lucas Phillips to Zach Taylor. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and DC led 17-3.
DeKalb got more points with 7:01 left in the third period on a 58 yard touchdown run by Zach Taylor. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and DC led 24-3.
The Dragons got a defensive touchdown with 1:30 left in the third period on a 27 yard interception return by Tyler Huddleston. The P.A.T by Cullen Roysden was good and York Institute trailed 24-10
With 9:22 left in the fourth period, DC's Zach Thompson caught a seven yard touchdown pass from quarterback Lucas Phillips. The P.A.T. by Zach Taylor was good and the Tigers led 31-10.
DC's Sebastian Phillips scored on an eight yard touchdown run with 2:48 left in the fourth quarter. The P.A.T. by Taylor was no good but the Tigers went on to win 37-10.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 6-1 overall and 2-1 in district play. Next Friday night, DeKalb County will be at Macon County. Kick-off will be at 7:00 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
