The DeKalb County Tigers claimed the regular season district championship with a 59 to 48 win at Cannon County Tuesday night. The Lady Tigers lost to the Lionettes 61 to 45.
The Lions led the Tigers 15 to 11 after the first period but DC rallied for a 28 to 17 lead by halftime. The Tigers were up 48 to 31 by the end of the third period and won 59 to 48.
Sonni Fullilove scored 21 to pace the Tigers in scoring. Lucas Phillips had 14. Braxton Atnip 11. Ethan Roller 8. Eli Lomas 3 and Will Molander with 2.
The Lady Tigers trailed 15 to 13 after the first period of their game. DC was down 31 to 18 at halftime, 49 to 29 after the third period, and lost 61 to 45.
Paige Winnigham had 15 points for the Lady Tigers. Abbey Caldwell 9. Loren Cripps 8. Chelsea Lewis 6. Lydia Foutch 5 and Ashli Chew 2.
The Tigers are 24-4 overall and 11-1 in the district. The Lady Tigers go to 14-14 overall and 1-11 in district play.
