The DeKalb County Tigers claimed the Region Tournament Championship Wednesday by beating the Smith County Owls 7 to 1 in Smithville.
DeKalb County scored two runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth, and one run in the sixth inning.
Smith County scored one run in the seventh inning
Shane Salley, the winning pitcher, faced 31 batters and gave up one earned run on five hits. He struck out seven and walked five.

The DeKalb County Tiger Baseball Team will face McMinn Central on Saturday, May 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in the Sub-State at the DCHS baseball field in Smithville. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, May 21st at 4:30 p.m. but has been postponed due to the weather.
