The DeKalb County Tigers bounced back from last week's loss to Trousdale County with a 34 to 0 blowout of the visiting York Institute Dragons on Senior Night Friday evening. It was the Tigers' second shutout win of the season.
The first score of the night came as quarterback Steven Jennings found Aaron Patterson on a 6 yard touchdown pass. The extra point by Matthew Poss was good and the Tigers led 7-0 with 3:24 left in the first period.
Jacob Washer caught a 10 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jennings with 1:56 left in the second period and after Poss's extra point, the Tigers led 14-0.
DeKalb County's Aaron Patterson reeled in his second touchdown pass of the night from quarterback Jennings, covering 25 yards for the score with 3:42 to go in the third period. The extra point by Poss was good and the Tigers were up 21-0.
Devonta Milan broke free on a 40 yard touchdown run with 9:48 left in the fourth period to give the Tigers a commanding 28-0 lead after the extra point by Poss.
DeKalb County 's kicker Matthew Poss added a pair of field goals in the fourth period, including one from 26 yards with 6:41 left and another from 25 yards with 2:02 to go to lift the Tigers to a 34-0 win.
DeKalb County improves to 5-2 on the season and 3-0 in the district. The remaining three regular season games for the Tigers are on the road with trips to Macon County next week, October 18; and then at Upperman on October 25, and at Smith County on November 1.
