The DeKalb County Tigers got their first road win of the season at Lafayette Friday beating the Macon County Tigers 7 to 6 in ten innings.
DeKalb County took a one to nothing lead after the first inning. Macon County scored two runs in the third inning to grab a 2 to 1 lead. Each team scored one run in the fifth inning and Macon County led 3 to 2. Macon County added two more runs in sixth inning to lead 5 to 2. DeKalb County scored four runs in the seventh inning and moved ahead 6 to 5. But Macon County scored the tying run in the bottom of the seventh to send the game into extra innings. DeKalb County scored the game winning run in the top of the 10th inning. Destry Wiggins reached on a single in the top of the 10th. He later stole second base and then advanced to third base on a balk from the pitcher. Wiggins then stole home. That proved to be the winning run.
Cody Puckett, the starting pitcher, went six innings on the mound for DeKalb County and gave up five runs on five hits. He struck out nine and walked one. McCullough Wallace, the winning pitcher, went four innings and gave up one run on three hits. He struck out three and walked one.
