The DCHS basketball teams wrapped up the regular season with road wins at White County Monday night.
The Lady Tigers won 42 to 33 and the Tigers beat the Warriors 63 to 53.
In the girls game, DC was down 13 to 3 after the first period but fought back for a 16 to 13 lead by halftime, outscoring White County 13 to 0 in the second quarter. The Lady Tigers were outscored 16 to 10 in the third period and fell behind 29 to 26. But in the fourth quarter, DC regained the advantage, outscoring White County 16 to 4 to get the 42 to 33 win.
Alex Meadows scored 17 for the Lady Tigers. Loren Cripps had 13. Chelsea Lewis 8 and Abbey Caldwell with 4.
For the boys, the Tigers trailed 16 to 14 after the first period but clawed back for a 30 to 26 edge by halftime, outscoring the Warriors 16 to 10 in the second quarter. The Tigers held a three point lead after the third period, 45 to 42, though White County outscored them 16 to 15. In the fourth quarter, DC outpaced the Warriors 18 to 11 and won 63 to 53.
Stephen Howell scored 24 and Sonni Young had 20 to lead the Tigers in scoring. Lucas Phillips scored 7. Braxton Atnip 4, Ethan Roller and Will Molander each with 3 and Braxton Howell had 2.
The district tournament opens tonight for the Tigers as they face Central Magnet at 7:30 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
On Wednesday night, the Lady Tigers will meet Cannon County at 6:00 p.m.
