The DeKalb County Tigerettes knocked off Red Boiling Springs in a double header on the road Wednesday, winning 5 to 0 in the first game and 13 to 0 in the second contest.
In the opener, DeKalb County scored five runs on five hits and made one error. The Tigerettes scored one run in the second inning, one run in the fourth, and three runs in the fifth inning.
Kayla Self, the winning pitcher, gave up four hits through five innings. She struck out five and walked one.
Cynthia Woodward, Brooke Hutchings, and Jaylen Garrett each had a single, Victoria Bennett had a double, and Alex Meadows tripled.
In the second game, the Tigerettes pounded Red Boiling Springs 13 to nothing. The game was called in the third inning.
DeKalb County scored three runs in the first inning and ten runs in the second inning
Kayla Self pitched two innings and Hillary Bowman came in for one inning. Bowman struck out one and gave up one hit.
Cynthia Woodward had a single and triple. Victoria Bennett had three doubles, Brooke Hutchings and Jaylen Garrett each had a single, Kristian Puckett had a single and a homerun, and Kristina Stephens doubled.
The Tigerettes will travel to Baxter today (Thursday) to take on Upperman in a double leader
