The DeKalb County Tigerettes defeated the Smith County Owlettes 4 to 3 at Carthage on Thursday.
DC scored four runs on six hits and made no errors. Smith County scored three runs on ten hits and made no errors. The Tigerettes scored all four runs in the seventh inning. The Owlettes scored all three runs in the third inning.
Shauna Taylor, the winning pitcher, struck out one
Danielle Tyson, Loren Cripps, Tyra Graham, and Chelsey Brannon each had a single while Abbey Caldwell had a double and belted a three run homerun in the seventh inning.
The Tigerettes are scheduled to compete in the Coffee County Tournament at Manchester Friday and Saturday. DeKalb County will host Upperman Monday at 4:30 p.m. and finish out the regular season at home against Grundy County on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The district tournament begins next Friday at Baxter.
