Tigerettes 1-1 on First Day of Duff Tournament

The DeKalb County Tigerettes shutout Monterey 16 to 0 but then lost to Mount Juliet 10 to 0 in pool play of the Duff Tournament at Cookeville Friday.

In the game with Monterey, the Tigerettes scored seven runs in the first inning, eight runs in the second, and one run in the third inning.

Shauna Taylor, the winning pitcher, pitched a two hit shutout through three innings. She struck out two and walked one.

In the game against Mount Juliet, the Tigerettes lost 10 to 0.

Mount Juliet scored six runs in the third inning and four runs in the fourth inning

Danielle Tyson, the losing pitcher, went three innings and gave up six runs on five hits. She struck out two and walked three.
Lauren Colwell gave up three runs on one hit and walked four
Shanua Taylor went two thirds of an inning and gave up one run

The Tigerettes will play at 9:00 a.m. today (Saturday) in the first round of the double elimination tournament at Cookeville.
