The DeKalb County Lady Tigers lost their district tournament consolation game to Livingston Academy 59 to 38 Saturday night at Tennessee Tech in Cookeville.
With the loss, DeKalb County will be the fourth seed from District 8AA in the upcoming Region 4AA tournament. It's their first region tournament appearance since 1993.
The Lady Tigers got behind early and could not catch up, trailing 16 to 8 after the first period, 26 to 11 at halftime, and 46 to 20 after the third period before dropping the game 59 to 38. DeKalb County was outscored 10 to 3 in the second quarter and 20 to 9 in the third period. The Lady Tigers outscored Livingston Academy in the fourth period 18 to 13.
Kristina Stephens and Mercedes Luna each scored 11 points for DeKalb County, Cynthia Woodward had 7, Morgan Page 4, Alex Meadows and Martha Webb each with 2 points, and Elica Cantrell had 1 point.
The Lady Tigers' overall record drops to 16 and 14.
