The DeKalb County Tigers, who won the regular season district championship, watched their district tournament title hopes slip away as they lost 57 to 41 Tuesday night to the Livingston Academy Wildcats in the championship game at Cookeville High School.
The Wildcats led 14 to 8 after the first period, 30 to 15 at halftime, and 41 to 31 after the third period before going on to win 57 to 41.
Sonni Fullilove had 16 points for the Tigers. Braxton Atnip with 9. Lucas Phillips 7 and Stephen Howell, Zach Vincent, and Aaron Patterson each with 3 points.
Fullilove, Atnip, and Phillips were all named to the All-Tournament Team after the game.
Meanwhile, Upperman defeated Cannon County 74 to 60 for third place in the consolation game of the tournament.
On Monday night, the Livingston Academy girls won the tournament championship with a 52 to 45 victory over Cannon County. York Institute took third place with a 50 to 33 win over Upperman in the consolation game.
