DCHS Splits with Warren County on Senior Night

The DeKalb County Lady Tigers battled Warren County into overtime before losing 66 to 63 to close out the regular season on senior night in Smithville Saturday. The Tigers won their finale over the Pioneers 67 to 58.

In the girls game, the Lady Tigers trailed 20 to 18 after the first period, 33 to 31 at halftime, and 46 to 37 after the third period before mounting a rally to tie the game at 55 by the end of regulation. Warren County outscored DC in the overtime period 11 to 8 and won 66 to 63.

Loren Cripps led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 19 points. McKenzie Poteete had 16. Paige Winningham 14. Morgan Pedigo 9. Jailyn Bolding 3, and Ashli Chew with 2.

In the boys game, the Tigers led 12 to 9 after the first period but fell behind 30 to 27 at halftime. DC regained the lead 43 to 40 by the end of the third period and went onto win 67 to 58.

Ethan Roller scored 16. Steven Jennings 15. Aaron Patterson 12. Justin Bone 10. Austin Frazier 8. Kaleb Ferrell 4 and Eli Lomas with 2 points.

The Lady Tigers will meet Central Magnet in the first round of the District 8AA Tournament Thursday night at 6:00 p.m. while the Tigers will take on Cannon County at 7:30 p.m. The games will be played at White County High School in Sparta. WJLE plans LIVE coverage.
