The DeKalb County Tigers dropped their first game of the Watertown Christmas Tournament Thursday losing to Meigs County 64 to 59. The Lady Tigers clobbered Trousdale County 61 to 36.
In the boys game, the Tigers trailed 16 to 13 after the first period and 34 to 28 at halftime. DC outscored Meigs County 18 to 11 in the third period and pulled ahead 46 to 45 heading into the fourth quarter. But Meigs County rallied 19 to 13 in the final frame and won 64 to 59.
Ethan Roller scored 26 for the Tigers. Justin Bone had 12. Steven Jennings 10. Aaron Patterson 9 and Eli Lomas with 2 points.
In the girls game, the Lady Tigers led 18 to 5 after the first period, 35 to 13 at halftime, and 53 to 20 after the third period before going onto win 61 to 36.
Paige Winningham scored 17 for DeKalb County. Loren Cripps had 13. Kenzie Poteete 10. Jailyn Bolding and Hannah Panter each scored 6. Morgan Pedigo 5 and Katie Hall with 4 points.
The Tigers are to play Friday at 2:30 p.m. against Watertown. If they win, the Tigers will play the winner of Livingston/ Gordonsville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. If the Tigers lose they will play the loser of Livingston/Gordonsville at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday.
The Lady Tigers are to play at 7:00 p.m. Friday against Warren County. The winner will play Saturday in the Championship game versus the winner of Cheatham County/ Westmorland at 7:00 p.m. The loser will play the loser of Cheatham County/Westmoreland at 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
