DCHS Golf Teams Remain Undefeated in District Competition

The DCHS Golf teams remain undefeated in district play.

Coach Joe Pat Cope told WJLE Friday that boys and girls teams performed well this past week at Upperman and have another big week ahead of them at home. "This past week we went to Upperman, which is another district foe. We played Upperman, Clay County, Clark Range and York that day. We had a five way match and won every match. We went 8-0 that day on the guys and girls side. For the guys, Ethan Roller shot a 32 and Tevin Owens shot a 35 that day. Those were our two best scores. On the girls side, Mallory Sulllivan shot a 33. Callie Mitchell shot a 42. Both teams are undefeated in district play. Our boys have four or five losses on the season, but every loss is to a triple-a school. Those (losses) were in that Cookeville tournament and White County beat them twice. Our girls have lost to Walker Valley and White County but they have also defeated White County in a split. We will play Livingston Academy and Jackson County this next week at home. If we beat them we'll be undefeated in district play on both sides going into the district tournament. The district tournament is September 12 & 14. The girls tournament will be September 12 at Ironwood and the boys tournament is set for September 14 at Cookeville Golf Club.
