The DeKalb County High School golf teams opened district play, Monday, at Hidden Valley Golf Course.
The Tigers split their matches with Livingston Academy and Pickett County, while the Lady Tigers dropped both matches to their district opponents.
The Tigers posted a 157, which was good enough to top Pickett County's 166, but was seven strokes behind Livingston, who finished with a 150.
Individually for DeKalb County, Payne Denman shot a 36, Grant Goodwin tallied a 38, Grant James came in with a 41, while Austin Garrett shot a 42.
On the girls' side, Livingston Academy posted the victory with a team score of 85. Pickett County was next, with a 90, while DeKalb County was just two strokes back, with a 92.
Individually for the local girls, Shay Sullivan posted a 45, while Cynthia Woodward shot a 47.
After two matches, the Tiger golf team is 4-8 overall, while the girls have a 2-5 record. DeKalb County is scheduled to take on Jackson County on Thursday.
