The DeKalb County High School golf teams split their season opening matches, Tuesday, at Windtree Golf Course.
The Lady Tigers shot an 88, which was six strokes ahead of Monterey, who tallied a 94 for the day, while Portland had only one golfer, who finished with a 64. Shay Sullivan set an individual best score with a 34 for the nine-hole event, while Kalli Mitchell shot a 54.
The Tigers, meanwhile, posted a 172, which was six strokes behind Portland, who tallied a 166, and three strokes behind Monterey, who shot a 169. Paybne Denman shot a 35 to lead the Tigers, while Grant James tallied a 42 and Logan Clark finished with a 44.
DeKalb County is scheduled to take on Upperman on Thursday at Southern Hills Golf Course. Tee time is 3:30 p.m.
