The football season will open soon for the DeKalb County High School Tigers, who will begin their fall practices in just a few days. The Tigers are taking part in a 7-on-7 passing camp at Vanderbilt University this weekend, and will hold their annual Lift-A-Thon next week. Two-a-day workouts for the Tigers will start on Thursday, July 24th, with the team's day camp set for Saturday, July 26th.
Meanwhile, the Tigers first scrimmage will be on Friday, August 1st, when the team hosts Chattanooga Tyner at 5:30 p.m. The team will play its second scrimmage on Friday, August 8th, at home against Sequatchie County at 6:30 p.m. The DCHS student body will get a chance to watch the team during an intersquad scrimmage on Thursday, August 15th, at 8:00 a.m. during the Black and Gold Game. The Tigers will then travel to Tennessee Tech on Friday night, August 15th, where they will wrap up the pre-season at the Tennessee Tech Jamboree.
The regular season opener for the DCHS Tigers will be on Friday, August 22nd, as Warren County comes to Smithville. Kickoff will be at 7:30 p.m. The rest of the schedule will be as follows:
