The DeKalb County Lady Tigers came from behind in the fourth period to defeat the Central Magnet Tigerettes on the road Friday night 37 to 35 while the DC Tigers breezed past their opponents 65 to 28.
The Lady Tigers led 4 to 2 after the first quarter of their game, but fell behind 10 to 8 by halftime as they were outscored 8 to 4 in the second period. Each team scored 9 points in the third period and DC trailed 19 to 17 going into the fourth quarter. In the final period, DC outscored Central Magnet 20 to 16 and won 37 to 35.
Chelsea Lewis scored 17 points. Danielle Tyson had 8, Loren Cripps 6, and Alex Meadows and Ashley Barnes each scored 3.
The Tigers' game was never in doubt as DC rolled to a 28 to 9 lead by the end of the first period and 49 to 14 at halftime, outscoring Central Magnet 21 to 5 in the second quarter. DC outpaced Central Magnet 14 to 9 in the third period and had a forty point lead, 63 to 23 heading into the final period. Central Magnet edged the Tigers 5 to 2 in the fourth quarter but DeKalb County won easily 65 to 28.
Will Molander scored 8 points. Lucas Phillips, Stephen Howell, Ethan Roller, Braxton Atnip and Aaron Patterson each had 7 points. Sonni Young 6. Zach Vincent 5, Eli Lomas 3, and Braxton Howell, Austin Frazier, and Jordan Taylor each scored 2.
