DC Dominates In Blow Out Win Over Upperman

The DeKalb County Tigers scored early and often in a dominating 63-14 blowout win over the Upperman Bees in Smithville Friday night.

With the victory, the Tigers are now 8-1 overall and 3-1 in the district with an important date with Livingston Academy awaiting them in two weeks in the regular season finale in Smithville.

DC got on the board with 10:09 left in the first period on a 28 yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Lucas Phillips to Zach Taylor. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and the Tigers led 7-0

Will Molander then picked off an Upperman pass and returned it 25 yards for a Tiger touchdown with ten minutes left in the first period. Taylor's P.A.T. was good and DC led 14-0.

Later in the first quarter, Molander caught a pass from quarterback Phillips covering 57 yards for another score. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and the Tigers led 21-0.

The Bees scored their first touchdown of the game on a 60 yard pass play from quarterback Conner York to Tyler Hadynski. The P.A.T. by Vincent Ferguson was good and Upperman trailed 21-7 with 1:12 left in the first period.

DC extended its lead on a 14 yard touchdown run by Dylan Freeney with 11:46 left in the second period. Taylor's P.A.T. was good and the Tigers had a 28-7 advantage.

With 9:24 left in the second period, Zach Thompson caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Phillips, covering 52 yards for the score. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and DC led 35-7.

Sebastian Phillips scored on a 23 yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Phillips with 8:29 left before half time. Taylor's P.A.T. was good and the Tigers held a commanding 42-7 lead.

Upperman scored it's last points of the night on a three yard quarterback keeper by Conner York with five seconds left in the half. Ferguson's P.A.T. was good and the Bees trailed 42-14 at halftime.

Dylan Freeney scored on a four yard touchdown run with 9:20 left in the third period and with Taylor's P.A.T. the Tigers led 49-14.

Jason Judkins scored on a 12 yard touchdown pass play from quarterback Phillips with 11:15 left in the fourth period. Taylor's P.A.T. was good and DC led 56-14.

The final score of the night came on a seven yard touchdown run by Luke Boss late in the fourth period. The P.A.T. by Taylor was good and the Tigers went on to win 63-14.

The Tigers will be off with a bye week next Friday.
