Cornerstone Spoils Homecoming for Saints with 32-0 Win

Cornerstone put a damper on the DeKalb Middle School Homecoming Tuesday night with a 32-0 win over the Saints.

Though neither team scored in the first quarter, Cornerstone got on the board twice in the second quarter. With 7:17 left in the second quarter, Cornerstone scored on an 8 yard touchdown pass play. The 2 point conversion was good and Cornerstone led 8-0. Then with just 2:48 left in the first half, Cornerstone struck again, this time on a nine yard touchdown run. The 2 point conversion was good and Cornerstone led at halftime 16-0.

The third quarter played out just as the first with neither team putting any points on the board. But in the fourth quarter Cornerstone scored twice to put the game away. Their first score of the second half came with 3:51 left on an 11 yard touchdown run. The 2 point conversion was good and Cornerstone led 24-0. Cornerstone's final score came with 1:15 left on a 14 yard touchdown run. Again, the 2 point conversion was good and Cornerstone went on to win the game 32-0.

The Saints record falls to 2 and 4 on the season. They will host Westmoreland this Thursday night kick off is set for 6:30 p.m.
