64 year old Walter F. Askew of Alexandria died Sunday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. Born in Wilson County, Askew was employed at the Ross Gear plant in Lebanon, a member of the West Main Baptist Church, and an Army veteran. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Ronnie Smith will officiate and burial will be in the New Hope Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. Askew was preceded in death by his parents, Amon Frazier Askew and Maudie Bell Parkerson and a sister, Patricia Allmon. Survivors include two sons, Brad and wife Judy Askew of Watertown and Brian Askew of Murfreesboro. A brother, Shelie "Peewee" and wife Pam Askew of Alexandria. Grandchildren, Madison Grace Askew and Camri Layne Johnson. Uncles, Butch Parkerson and Eddie Lawrence. Aunt, Jean Reasonover and several nieces and nephews. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.
