61 year old Phillip Mason "PM" Clayton of Smithville died Friday morning at his residence. He was a Methodist and a retired factory worker. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Kenneth Clayton will officiate and burial will be in the Mount Holly Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Clayton. Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Taylor Clayton of Smithville. Two sons, Scott and Nicole Clayton of Cookeville and Ryan and Magen Clayton of Milton. One daughter, Chrissy Clayton Means of Cookeville. Mother, Jean Clayton of Dowelltown. Three grandchildren, Kaleb and Seth Clayton, and Addyson Means all of Cookeville. One brother, Ronald and Cathy Clayton of Smithville. Two sisters, Susan and Darry Driver of Dowelltown and Lucinda and Richard Carter of Temperance Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the funeral home to help with burial expenses.
