70 year old Jewel Wayne Lawson of McMinnville died Sunday night at his residence. He formerly drove a milk truck for Bill Weaver. He was retired from the DeKalb County Road Department where he drove a gravel truck. He was also a life long farmer and a member of the Short Mountain Church of God. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Charles Stanton will officiate and burial will be in Banks Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 4:00 p.m. Lawson was preceded in death by parents, Huey and Sybal Bratcher Lawson and two sisters, Virginia and Judith Lawson. Survivors include two daughters, Angela Diane Lawson and Tena Ann and husband Rodney Basham all of McMinnville. Two grandchildren, Brittany Nicole and husband Blake Parker of Woodbury and Lindsey Brooke Basham of McMinnville. Two sisters, Sue Arnold and Barbara Lawson both of Smithville. Two brothers, Ronald and wife Dora Lawson of Woodbury and Donald Lawson of Smithville. Former wife and mother of his children, Jo Lawson of McMinnville.
