80 year old Jack L. Turner of Dowelltown died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a member of the Smithville First Baptist Church and attended Dowelltown United Methodist Church. He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Army and the U.S. Air Force. He was also a member of the DeKalb County Retired Teachers Association and the V.F.W. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force and he also taught DeKalb County schools for twenty years. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial in Salem Cemetery. Matt Long, Micheal Hale, and Mark Bass will officiate. Visitation will be Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from noon until the service at 2:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike L. and Weltha Era Garner Turner; a sister, Mary Jane Turner; two brothers, Mike and Jimmy Turner, and a nephew, Neal Reeves. 85 year old Willis Edward Page of Alexandria died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. Born in DeKalb County, Page was a farmer, a Methodist, and a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. 83 year old Roy Lee Crook of Alexandria died Friday at UMC Hospital in Lebanon. He worked in the shipping department for Cargill Steel. Crook was born in DeKalb County. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Coopers Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. 51 year old Sharon Louise Hutcheson of Dowelltown died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a factory worker. The family has chosen direct cremation. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Darrell and Bertie Mae Wilson Webb. Survivors include several nieces and nephews; life partner, Doug Boyd; and a brother, Donnie Webb. 81 year old Velma Green Walker of Smithville, died Friday night at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. She was clerical at Cripps-France Pharmacy and Family Medical Center Pharmacy and was a member of the Keltonburg Church of Christ and attended the Smithville Church of Christ. 74 year old William Dexter Mabe of McMinnville died Thursday at River Park Hospital of an extended illness. He worked as a factory worker for 11 years at Century Electric, and 26 years for Batesville Casket Factory. He was a member of Shellsford Baptist Church. He also served in the U.S. Air Force. A graveside service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m.at the New Bildad Cemetery in Smithville. Ricky Arnold and Joseph Arnold will officiate with burial in New Bildad Cemetery.
