57 year old Linda Bell Wright of Smithville died Thursday at Baptist Hospital. She was a Baptist and an employee of Kingston Timer. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jimmy Wright and Tommy Taylor will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lear Elizabeth Wright. Survivors include two sisters, Judy Wright of Smithville and Eva and her husband Jim Kennedy of Gallatin. Three brothers, Aubrey and his wife Jo Wright of Smithville, Jerry Wright of Lebanon, and Clancy Wright of Smithville. Five nieces, Tina Wright Miller of Smithville, Michelle Rigsby of Crossville, Kristie Davis of Lebanon, Jammie Wright of Antioch, and Misty Poss of Smithville. One nephew, Anthony Kennedy of Gallatin. Two great nieces, Leah Rigsby of Crossville and Alissa Wright of Antioch. Six great nephews, Nathan and Ben Gard of Smithville, Matthew Poss of Smithville, Gregory and Jake Davis of Lebanon, and Austin Kennedy of Gallatin. One great great niece, Makenlee Grace Gard of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Clarence Loring Vickers

83 year old Clarence Loring Vickers of Smithville died Sunday at the Beulah Edging Home in Paducah, Kentucky. He was a Baptist and owner of Vickers Nursery. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Junior Hibdon will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. He was preceded in death by his parents, Author and Mary Vickers; a daughter, Elaine Vickers Allen; and a sister, Virginia Ricketts. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mildred Britton Vickers of Smithville. Four children, Mary Elisa Vickers Gilreath of Smithville, Marsha Vickers Penrod of Paducah, Kentucky, Author Britton Vickers of Smithville, and Susan Slay of Tampa, Florida. Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren survive along with a nephew, Barry Ricketts of Watertown. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Judy Love Maxwell

66 year old Judy Love Maxwell of Smithville died Friday at Hendersonville. She was a retired property manager with the state of Tennessee and was employed with Home Depot. She was also a Pentecostal. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 2:30 p.m. She was preceded in death by her father Van Love. Survivors include two sons, Scott Maxwell of Alabama and Todd Maxwell of Goodlettsville. Her mother, Inez Love of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Ashley Maxwell and Anthony Maxwell both of Alabama. One great grandchild, Ashton Maxwell of Alabama. Two sisters, Treva Hunt of Hendersonville and Barbara Christian of Texas. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

48 year old Charles Edward Vanatta of Smithville died Thursday at his residence. He was a member of the Mount Herman Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. David Carden will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben Edward Vanatta and a brother, Jerry Vanatta. Survivors include a daughter, Felicia Ann Vanatta Cantrell of Gassaway. One son, Kevin Lavard Vanatta of Smithville. Two grandchildren, Dakoda Wayne Cantrell and Aveya Grace Cantrell both of Gassaway. His mother, Josie Vanatta of Smithville. Five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Pam and Steve Rice of Smyrna, Crystal Lloyd of Smyrna, Carolyn and Jimmy Neal, Peggy Bissonette, and Linda Davis all of Smithville. One brother and sister-in-law, David and Brenda Vanatta of Woodbury. Several nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, and friends survive including special niece Ashley Bly of Smyrna. 87 year old Lorene Parker of Liberty died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Leonard Herman will officiate and burial will be in the Cripps Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Parker; her parents, Charlie and Maudie Barrett; and a great niece. Survivors include two sisters, Aline and husband Arron Faulkner of Murfreesboro and Mary and husband Gene Taylor of Statesville. Three nieces, two nephews, three great nieces, six great nephews, five great great nieces, and five great great nephews survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn J. Tague

72 year old Marilyn J. Tague of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker. Tague was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Tague and her parents, Austin and Ethel Godfrey Howe. Survivors include four children, Trina Hill and husband Rick Fosnough of Smithville, Raymond Tague of Smithville, Sandra and husband DiBattiste of Kentucky, and Gary and wife Terry Tague of Indianapolis, Indiana. Ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family has chosen direct cremation.

79 year old Gladys Linder of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Larry Steffee will officiate and burial will be in the Adcock Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 .m. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Linder; her parents, Alvie and Bertha Pedigo Ashburn; a daughter, Reba Fiffer; a son, Dolton Linder; three grandchildren, Mary Sue Hodges, Jerry Lee Taylor, and Bryon Linder; four brothers, J.B., James, Harley, and Silas Ashburn; and a sister, Willie Bee Moore. Survivors include a son, David Linder of Smithville. Three daughters, Patricia Linder of Smithville, Debora Anderson of Smithville, and Linda and husband George Bibby of Nashville. Eleven grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren survive along with a sister, Ruby and her husband Floyd Nokes of Smithville. 83 year old Jean N. Alexander of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Baptist and a bookkeeper for Smithville Motors from 1958 until 1986. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Woodbury. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Alexander; her parents, Joe and Lera Tilfrod Northcutt; and a brother, Foster Northcutt. Survivors include two sons, Jim Alexander of Cookeville and Tommy and his wife Joyce Alexander of Smithville. One sister, Carol Banta of Smithville. Two brothers, Dixon and wife Isabell Northcutt of Brentwood and Charles W. "George" Northcutt of McMinnville. Four grandchildren, Jenny Elizabeth and Doug Lynch of Orlando, Florida; Rob Alexander of Smithville; David Alexander of Murfreesboro; and James Daniel Alexander of Smithville. Sisters-in-law, Edith Northcutt of Woodbury, Hazel Neely of Murfreesboro, and Waldean Mitchell of Murfreesboro. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jean and Richard Drury of Murfreesboro, John and Jane Alexander of Smithville. Daughter-in-law, Jan Alexander of Smithville. 94 year old Nola B. Vandergriff of Smithville died Thursday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church. She was also a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star #477 and a real estate secretary/bookkeeper. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. B.J. Thomason will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Willie and Nola Ford Vandergriff; brothers, Walter Vandergriff and Valter Vandergriff; and sisters, Pauline Moon and Lois Vandergriff. Survivors include nieces, Nelda Sue Burklow, Carolyn and husband Kenneth Mullinax, Debra and husband Mitchell Rowland, Linda and husband Jerry Hassler, Vivian and husband Jimmy Hudson, and Sarah Dean and husband William Carew. Nephews, Wayne and wife Becky Vandergriff, Douglas and wife Shelia Vandergriff, Valter and wife Beth Vandergriff, and Thomas and wife Beverly Moon. Twenty five great nieces and nephews and numerous great, great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. 86 year old Virginia Lee Ricketts of Watertown died Tuesday at University Medical Center in Lebanon. She was a homemaker and a member of Fall Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Billy Trice and Greg Bell will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Hunter Funeral Home; and from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 2:00p.m. at Fall Creek Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Vickers and Mary Robinson Vickers; her husband, Riley Ricketts; niece, Elaine Vickers; and an infant twin sister. She is survived by a son, Barry and wife Sherry Ricketts of Watertown; step grandchildren, Jennifer and husband Wayne Rollins of Lebanon, and Mitch Johnson of Mayfield, Kentucky; a brother, Clarence and wife Mildred Vickers of Smithville; brothers and sisters-in-law, William "Snooky" and wife Pat Ricketts of Watertown, Ray and wife Jean Ricketts of Lebanon, and Lillian Cressman of Sundance, New York. Nieces and nephews, Marsha Penrod, Lisa Gilreath, Britt and wife Paula Vickers, Angela and husband Tim Goolsby, Randy and wife Gale Ricketts, Anita and husband Joe Hodges, Rose Hutchinson, Brenda and husband Bobby Crook, Barbara Thompson, John and wife Lisa Hutchinson, Don and wife Paula Cox Hutchinson, Ricky and wife Shaikai Wright, Paulette and husband Truman Ransom, Susan and husband Vick Worthington, and Jan and husband Kenny Denzin.
