45 year old Sandra Faye Kennedy West of Liberty died Thursday at her residence. She was a homemaker. The family has chosen direct cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. She is survived by children, Daniel Shahan of Lebanon, Charles Jason West of Smithville, Shauna Stringer of Brush Creek, and Charles Travis West of Crossville. Her parents, Joe and Jewel Kennedy of Smithville. Brothers, Ricky and Randy Kennedy and Richard Hunt. Her ex-husband, Charles Habart West of Smithville. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

James M. Owens

70 year old James M. Owens of the Riverwatch Community died Tuesday night at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. He is survived by his wife. Jane Owens of Riverwatch. Two sons, James Owens and his wife Tonya of Tullahoma and Charles Owens and his wife Monica of San Diego, California. One sister, Catherine Dunn and husband William of Roxboro, North Carolina. Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of the arrangements. Jerry Hale Haas

67 year old Jerry Hale Haas of Smithville died Tuesday at NHC of Smithville. He was a retired truck driver and a member of the Snow Hill Methodist Church. The family has chosen direct cremation and a memorial service will be held later. There will be no visitation. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernie Harl Haas and Eva Mai Hale Haas; one daughter, Marlene Haas Stoglin; and his ex-wife, Macon Haas. He is survived by two daughters, Letitia and husband Greg Herron of Smithville and Stephanie Haas of Smithville. Two sons, Jeremy Lee Haas and Trent and his wife Lori Haas all of Smithville. Five grandchildren, Gregory and Shantay Herron, Michael Minnear, Brandon Haas, Steven Haas, and Chyanna Fagan all of Smithville. Two great grandchildren, Kailey and Dedrick Herron of Smithville. Two step great grandchildren, Devin and Jalen Pleasant of Smithville. One sister, Deborah and her husband Dave Keeling of California. Several aunts and uncles also survive. Meelan Elosie Perry

70 year old Meelan Elosie Perry of Lancaster died Tuesday at Cookeville Regional Hospital. She was a retired Dowelltown Post Master, a Christian of the Cookeville Church of the Nazarene, and a member of the DeKalb County Women's Republican Party. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Cookeville Church of the Nazarene. Kevin Thomas will officiate and burial will be in the Gordonsville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josh and Sadie Rice Lindsey and a brother, James Lindsey. Survivors include her husband, Walter Perry of Lancaster. Three sons, Joel and his wife Teresa Perry of Greenbrier, Mark Perry of Florida, and Todd and his wife Teresa Perry of Dowelltown. Four grandchildren, Erin Perry, Josh and Meagan Perry all of Lancaster, Hailey Perry of Dowelltown, and Emily Perry of Greenbrier. One devoted sister, Iney Akins of Alabama and several nieces, nephews, and friends. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. T.R. Raymond

79 year old T.R. Raymond of McMinnville (Gath Community) died Saturday at his residence. He was born in DeKalb County, was a retired material handler with Carrier, a farmer, cattleman, a horse trader, and a Baptist. The funeral will be Tuesday at noon at the Chapel of McMinnville Funeral Home. Bobby Muncey and Sam Odom will officiate and burial will be in the Gath Cemetery. The Raymond Family will receive friends on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until noon at McMinnville Funeral Home. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Leslie and Hassie Lee Certain Raymond; his first wife, Dorothy Jean Neely; his second wife, Leta Ann Cunningham; his sisters, Helen Raymond Bell, Louise Raymond Winchester, and Ruth Raymond Cantrell; and a brother, Walter Mutt Raymond. Survivors include sons, Robert and his wife Lena Raymond and Danny Raymond all of McMinnville. A daughter, Sylvia Raymond of Murfreesboro. Three step-daughters. Grandchildren, Jason Raymond, Alesha and Bud Pegg all of McMinnville and Angela and Glenn Merchant of Murfreesboro. Great grandchildren, Taylor, Brady, and Kennedi Pegg and Anna Raymond. A sister and brother-in-law, Mirl and Marvin Poss of McMinnville. 41 year old Jeff Lassiter of McMinnville died Sunday at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro. He was born in Warren County, a bail bondsmen with Free Bird Bail Bonds, and a member of the Friendship The Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home Chapel. Gerald "Coy" Jordan and Randy Valimont will officiate and burial will follow in the Mount View Cemetery. The Lassiter Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at McMinnville Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Tina Huff Lassiter. Children, Erika Betschart, Allen Betschart, Anabel Marie M. Lassiter, Alondra Kay "Ya Ya" M. Lassiter, and Emi Lee Grace Lassiter. 27 year old Bryon Scott Linder of Smithville died Sunday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The funeral will be Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Jason Lohorn will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Linder and Albert and Winnie Taylor. Survivors include one son, Braxton Linder of McMinnville. His father, William David Linder of Smithville. His mother and step-father, Sandy and Cameron Dunn of Smithville. A brother, Scottie and his wife Juleigh Linder of Liberty. Two sisters, Jennifer and special friend Greg White of Smithville, and Tammy Vanatta of Smithville. Grandmother, Gladys Linder of Smithville. 74 year old Erbie Dalton Christian of Alexandria died Wednesday at the Quality Care Health Center in Lebanon. He was a logger and farmer. A graveside service will be Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Baxter. Chris White will officiate. He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Betty Ruth Christian; a son-in-law, Ricky Grisham; his parents, Nick and Ruby Christian; sisters, Elizabeth Davis. Evangeline Hood and Maggie Wheeler; and a brother, Eugene Christian. Christian is survived by a daughter, Barbara Grisham of Alexandria. A granddaughter, Crystal and her husband Danny Caldwell of Alexandria. Great grandchildren, Bryanna, Hannah, and Hunter. Brothers, James Christian of Buffalo Valley, Doyle Christian of Woodbury, and Roy Christian of Buffalo Valley. Sisters, Margaret Fields of Lebanon, and Pauline Elrod and Kathleen Moss both of Buffalo Valley. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 26 year old Jamie Carl Hale of Liberty died Thursday in an ATV accident. He was a mechanic. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Wilson Williams will officiate and burial will be in the Hale Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Saturday from noon until 9:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until the service. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Oscar and Cleo Bogle Hale and Buddy and Esta Mai Davis Bain. Survivors include his parents, James E. and Shirley M. Hale of Liberty. A sister and brother-in-law, Glenda and Jeff Curtis of Alexandria. A niece, Savannah Curtis of Alexandria. His fiance, Tiffany Frazier of Liberty and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. 58 year old Nina Faye Page Wicks of Cookeville died Friday at her residence. She was a homemaker and a member of the Gospel of Faith Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held Monday at 7:00 p.m. at the Gospel of Faith Baptist Church on Tabernacle Road in DeKalb County. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Buck and Mina Bell Hale Page and two sisters, Lois Kennedy and Martha Page. She is survived by her husband, Phil Wicks of Cookeville. Two daughters, Rebecca Goats of Murfreesboro and Tina Barnes of Algood. One son, Wayne Young of Sparta. Three sisters, Carol Miller of Sparta, Judy Bullard, and Kathy Cantrell of Smithville.
