DeKalb West School Principal Sabrina Farler today announced the winners of the Perfect Attendance awards for the first part of the school year.
Melanie Ortiz was one of 42 students who had perfect attendance the first nine weeks of school. She won the drawing for a Walmart gift card. Coincidentally, 42 students also had perfect attendance the second nine weeks of school. Emma Martin won the drawing and received a Walmart gift card. Perfect attendance for students not only means not missing a day, but it also requires no days where they are late or leave school early.
