A total of 516 people have cast ballots during the first seven days of early voting in DeKalb County for the August 5th elections. Seventy eight voted Friday, July 23rd, including twenty eight in the Tennessee Republican Primary. Forty four voted in the Tennessee Democratic Primary. Six voters cast ballots only in the county general election and one person voted in the Dowelltown Municipal Election.
For the seven days combined, 516 people have taken advantage of early voting. Two hundred have voted in the state Republican Primary and 282 in the state Democratic Primary. Most have also voted in the DeKalb County General Election. Thirty three people have cast ballots only in the county general election, choosing not to vote in either state primary. Three have voted in the Dowelltown Municipal Election
Early voting continues through Saturday, July 31st on the first floor of the courthouse. Voting hours are 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays and from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Thursdays. Election day is Thursday, August 5th.
